30 Minutes: After the Storm

•February 3, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Love is an action, love can be found through so many portals, we might say we love certain things in life but actual love never fluctuates.

And after the storm,
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.

Night has always pushed up day
You must know life to see decay
But I won't rot, I won't rot
Not this mind and not this heart,
I won't rot.

And I took you by the hand
And we stood tall,
And remembered our own land,
What we lived for.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

And now I cling to what I knew
I saw exactly what was true
But oh no more.
That's why I hold,
That's why I hold with all I have.
That's why I hold.

I will die alone and be left there.
Well I guess I'll just go home,
Oh God knows where.
Because death is just so full and man so small.
Well I'm scared of what's behind and what's before.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

This is my last post from my summer documentary. I found a song by Mumford and Sons that I really love and I thought it went well with my last images from this summer. Please feel free to express any thoughts or feelings. Thanks.

Baseball is not my favorite sport golf either for that matter, but don’t get me started on that topic. I find baseball to be boring but that’s probably because I don’t understand it and I’m used to watching sports that have continuous running, blood, and knocking people to the ground. With my camera in my hands baseball seems more interesting. I went to a Royals game over the summer and had a good time, I think my favorite part besides the tailgating, is watching others get so into the sport they love, because that I do understand.

Play is the central item in children’s lives. It’s like work is to grown-ups. They play to learn.”

I got a notion to say what doesn't feel right
Got an answer in your story today
It gave me a sign that didn't feel right, no
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before

I just wanted to know if I could go home
Been rambling in day after day
And everyone says I don't know
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before

Got a notion to say what doesn't feel right
I just wanted to know if I could go home
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before

So don't knock it, don't knock it
So don't knock it, don't knock it
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before
So don't knock it, don't knock it, you've been here before

“Communication. It’s the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need.”

Thirty Minutes: Get up and go.

Lately I’ve felt so stuck in my life and I’m itching to get away for awhile, just drive and get a chance to breathe. To me there’s nothing better than getting in your car, blaring your music, and driving to an unknown destination. Yeah some people might think it’s a waste of gas and money but heck I can’t afford to backpack in europe if I could I wouldn’t be here. I think when life gets to be a routine and you seem suffocated that you need to step out of the norm and get up and go.

And take a little walk when the worst is to come
When I saw you looking like I never thought
And say you're at a loss or forgot that words can do more than harm

The town is gonna talk, but these people do not
See things through to the very minimal
But what's it gonna cost to be gone?
If we see you like I hoped we never would

When eyes can't look at you any other way,
Any other way, any other way
When eyes can't look at you any other way,
Any other way, any other way

So take it as a song or a lesson to learn
And sometime soon be better than you were
If you say you're gonna go, then be careful
And watch how you treat every living soul

My eyes can't look at you any other way,
Any other way, any other way
When eyes can't look at you any other way,
Any other way, any other way
